The Dutch media is raving about pornofication and sexualization. Porn is ruining our lives, disturbing the sexual development of young people and still objectifies women. Sex seems to be selling it all, everywhere. But can porn and erotica play a role in changing representations of sex and gender in a positive way? Is this commercially sellable or is it the illusion of the idealistic happy few? A discussion with women who are in control, ranging from the commercial world to the underground avant-garde.

Sandy Wenderhold
Sandy Wenderhold is the owner of the Dutch porn publishing company Sansyl. Jan Wenderhold founded Sansyl 40 years ago and left it to his daughter Sandy. Starting out as a publisher of a variety of Dutch porn magazines Sansyl is now a worldwide commercial business addressing a variety of media like films, the internet and print media.

Anna Span
Anna Span is the first female porn director in Great Britain. She started out in 1997 and is now an award winning filmmaker. Her films focus on the female enjoyment of sex and includes many different genres. Span is also a member Feminists against Censorship.

Sue du Plessis
Sue is one of the people at Mail & Female, the first female friendly sex shop in Europe, which celebrated their 20th birthday in 2008. Mail & Female is a company which combines personal ideals with a great sense of commerciality. Next to being a an on- and offline store, the ladies at Mail & Female want to change the Dutch mentality towards sexuality in a positive and uplifting way.

Murielle Scherre
Murielle Scherre is the founder of La Fille d'O, an unique lingerie collection which she designs to enhance the natural beauty of the female body. Next to that she is a writer, entrepreneur and responsible for the Devilles Harem Girls. In Belgium she is one of the fore fighters of a different approach to female sexuality and empowerment.

Wendy Delorme
Wendy Delorme is a French writer & performance artist. Author of the queer novel and feminist manifesto Quatrième Génération (Grasset, France, 2007), and a collection of short stories about sex politics & queer lives (to be published in March 2009. She is also the star of short films 'The Apple' and new film UNDERGROUND: FROM PARIS TO BERLIN from which a teaser will be shown at the festival.
